The blue bottle's tentacles

I have read about the coiled tentacles of the blue bottle but never quite seen them. The tentacles of those blue bottles I found on the shore were often very much decayed and looked like they have all "melted" into a blue mass.

Yesterday at South Cottesloe, I saw some blue bottles which have landed in pools of water on the rocky shore. I have taken a few shots of their tentacles. Yes, now I believe they have coiled tentacles :)

But you didn't test the stinging power! Very sensible.

What an astonishing blue. They look like fine glass.

Excellent photos. I particularly like that last one for the colour and detail.

Thanks Alan; thanks Snail.

I took the photo with my old Olympus camera, which always gives me good colours.

2.8 x optical zoom; 4 Megapixels; 1.5 inch LCD. Very low spec indeed. I bought it a few years ago. That old. And it now consumes batteries very quickly and would not take any rechargeable batteries anymore, even fully recharged.

For colours , it always beats my new Olympus camera (7 MP, 2.5 inch LCD and 4 x optical).

BTW, Snail, I have received your cowrie ID. Thanks.

Hi Chai
Great work with the Blue Bottles and their tentacles. Amazing detail. The pool must have been very clear.
Well done.
