What beautiful stars! Wow!

Hi Ria,

They are certainly beautiful! Do you know what species they could be? I am totally helpless when it comes to sea stars. The few guidebooks I have show photos that look so different from these. And I wonder why I almost never see any five-arm sea stars.

Cheers.

Alas, I only know the stars on my shores. I'm so sorry I don't know what yours might be.

Neville Coleman recently did a fabulous book on echinoderms and has many Australian stars. I'm sure your star is in his book.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Hi Ria,

Thanks anyway. I know the book. I am still thinking whether to buy the book or not A pretty expensive book. And there are several other titles that I want to buy too.

Cheers,
Chai

They are splendid little things!

You could send the pics to Chris Mah at Echinoblog, perhaps?
